Praxi Data Spreads its Wings Across the Atlantic
- Lynn Murphy
Andrew, or AT, brings a rare super power as a “hybrid” business person and technologist in all things data. He has witnessed, been immersed, designed, built, bought, sold and lived deep in the evolution of data and how people and organisations have tried to tame and manage it over the last three decades in the Industrial, Retail, Financial Services, Telco and Tech industries. Always being drawn to driving high growth innovation, he is pleased to be joining the Praxi Data team.
Since he worked for GE in the early 1990’s, people have been trying to solve the very same problem that Praxi Data is trying to solve today. What is different, Andrew says, is that “the challenge has increased in size at a scale never seen before.”
While working together at a different company with Praxi Data’s Founder & CEO, Andrew Ahn, AT says that they broke new ground and celebrated some significant successes across regulated industries. The missing element they did not solve was addressing the data sustainability issue. How do you keep your data alive and accessible when the underpinning tech changes? For example, cloud adoption is ubiquitous now, whereas only a few years ago it was seen as a niche. The way businesses structure, govern and leverage data to support their customers and run operations has not kept up at the same pace. Praxi Data’s mission is to solve this once and for all.
Make sure you don’t fall into the latest fashionable tool or platform.
As companies continue to invest in innovation despite the challenges of this year, there is even more need to look after your data and put in place capabilities that truly drive impact and allow organisations to re-think their data value journey. AT says that it’s “critical that companies invest in data capability, but make sure you don’t fall into the latest fashionable tool or platform. I have seen this too many times before and after the hiatus and excitement of the ‘new data program’ wanes. The long road ahead is not sustainable. AI and ML is already and truly here, and so use it wisely to help your people reap the real benefits from their data and drive your business forward by leveraging automation plus there are no real excuses to not enable real-time. Unfortunately, as we all know, the data topic is sometimes not sexy but with a bit of love and attention it is amazing what you can create as outcomes.”
We are excited to have AT join our team to increase Praxi Data’s global reach and support our mission to Empower Insights Now. Learn more about what we are working on globally and reach Andrew directly at email@example.com.
